Acacado Sleeper: 1968 Chevrolet Impala Sedan

The real trick about building a sleeper is to start with a car that is predominately driven by old geezers (sorry, no offense to the geezers in the audience…it’s the truth) and then keep it simple.  No racing slicks or monster exhaust, just a vinyl top and enough carburetion to feed a B-17 Flying Fortress at bombing altitude.  Find this

Find this 1968 Chevrolet Impala Sedan offered for $13,700 in St. Cloud, FL via craigslist.  Tip from Rock On!

The fourth generation 4-door hardtop Impala makes a perfect platform for cruising around getting smiles from strangers, right up till the time you goose the loud pedal and explode forward like a rocket.

Under the hood is a 355 cubic inch Chevy small block V8 that is equipped with forged internals, aluminum heads, and some other goodies for what looks like decent power.  The best part…between the engine and rear end sits a 4-speed manual gearbox.
