I love a rusty ond pile of junk wagon as much as a next guy (trust me…) but woof, this Amazon wagon looks like a piece of chalk that’s been left out in the rain. It might be melting. On the plus side it has a B18 inline-4 and a 4-speed manual gearbox, so the experience will be more interesting than anything you could find in a Volvo dealer today. But, you would be better off buying a restored version than trying to resto this one to “nice” condition. However, it probably wouldn’t’ make a bad driver for the asking price. Find this 1966 Volvo 122S Amazon Wagon offered for $5000 in Dublin, CA via craigslist.
From the seller:

C’mon DT, aren’t you kinda swimming against the tide, and the ethos of this very site? I thought we were still living in a time when people paid extra for …Patina.
Plus, aren’t Amazons among the models that built Volvo’s reputation for the toughness to endure the 93 million mile drive from the earth to the sun ?
Scrape off the bird turds, clearcoat this thing in its rain saturated, chalky glory and charge an extra $5k on the flip.
All seriousness aside, it does appear an AI has digitized poor Vince and created a mirror universe version where he has a beard and forgot about the beauty of crust. At least he didn’t suggest swapping in a Honda engine or something.
I think this is less than a mile from me here in Tracy. I recognized the background. Many parts of the neighborhood were under a foot or so of water a week ago in a flash flood, ( and many parts were spared, I was lucky) but there probably isn’t much other than a change of fluids needed on this even if it was submerged.
Gee this is tempting…
Put a dual circuit master cylinder in it and call it done. Too bad someone pointed a power washer at it.
Furthermore………..vis a vis ( how ’bout that) the oil pressure gauge under the dash to the left is somewhat concerning………its not there because the “legendary” B18 is lubing up properly

Ha, it’s vinyl wrap. OK, no, it’s not.

You mean swap the legendary B18 for a legendary B18?

So so tempting…
Eh, find the right rattle can baby blue and go to town
Go for it! Offer the seller 2500 for his “fair” condition Amazon which would be generous on your part! THEN flip it!
Honestly, it looks to be in really nice shape.
