6 Speed Manual: 2003 Volkswagen Passat W8
The B5 generation Passat was launched in the 1997 model year with a product that looked/drove/smelled a lot more like an Audi than the previous generation Passat. In 2001 Volkswagen introduced the B5.5, a cosmetically refreshed version of the platform that added more chrome trim (inside and out) some fancy taillights and a unique W8 engine option that could have been…if you were lucky…mated to a 6-speed manual. Find this 2003 Volkswagen Passat W8 offered for $8000 in Philadelphia, PA via Brabus Auto. Tip from Pat.

This is one of the nicest examples I have seen. Too cool.
The (or one of the) rarest of VAG products in NA. Unfortunately…this unicorn is still a B5 which means it really should be sent to race at Santa Ana…and come what may.
LOL. Santa Ana. Despite the coolness, why have this instead of a cheaper Phaeton?
The Phaeton is transmission challenged! Either could offer an interesting experience in maintenance costs and/or effort, however.
For the money, I'd just go with the car that this was conceived to challenge: the BMW e39 540i manual. Either one will be equally maintenance-intensive, so that's a wash, plus I like the parts availability of the bimmer better.
Not that this isn't a cool/interesting car…
