24Hrs of LeMons: 1979 Porsche 924

If you want to go racing, there are many options, but one form of racing stands up as a the best bang for your buck — 24 Hours of LeMons. Take a $500 car, add a cage, racing brakes, racing tires, and go racing. The total build cost for a decent Class A or B car will be upwards of $ 4 K to $ 5 K, but you can buy a pre-built car and save money. Don’t expect to win anything your first few times out — and expect to be obliterated by teams with semi-pro drivers and super cheaty builds…but that’s the game. Find this 1979 Porsche 924 offered for $3500 in Fairfield, CA via facelemons marketmarket.

Seller’s description
Lemons Car for sale.
Has all safety equipment, cage, seats, harness, fire suppression, kill switch. Cage was built by Evil Genius Racing. Was running 2 months ago. Needs TDC set and timing finished. Has 2 spare wheels and some spare parts. Once timing is set it is Lemons Race Ready. Was going to race it but life got in the way, and I don’t have time to work on it anymore.

Does one have to sell off parts to prove out the $500 purchase cost? Seems tough at this price point but I don’t know the rules.
