21 of 50: Sandy: 1972 Maserati Indy

The Maserati Indy was released in 1968 and named to celebrate Maserati’s two victories at the Indy 500 in 1939/1940…better late than never.  The Indy was only produced in limited quantity (1100 in total) but today they aren’t as desired as you might think and can be had for cheap.  Find this 1972 Maserati Indy 4.9 liter for sale in Houston, TX currently bidding on ebay for $20,100 with 4 days to go.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

We had hoped to find a mid-engined Maser for cheap, but alas, the Indy is front engine and this example is automatic equipped…but it has a nice exterior that is the exact color of a Weimaraner.

The interior is also in great shape and while we’d prefer our Indys to have a clutch, with this one you’ll have to let some hydraulically controlled machine decide when to shift the gears on the 320 horsepower V8 under the hood.
