1k: Electric But Not Eclectic: 1994 Chevrolet S-10
If you read the Pope’s most recent encyclical (Laudato Si‘), you might have noticed the part where the Jesuit Pontiff says folks should to start turning used banana peels into footwear, lest we fall down the slippery slope towards global doom (and if the Three Stooges taught me anything, it is that slipping on a banana peel is ALWAYS funny). Sandwiched between the threat of eternal damnation and the rising price of fossil fuels, the only logical thing to do is dump your coal rolling pickup and get this electrically powered 1994 Chevrolet S-10 found here on eBay currently bidding for $960 in Punta Gorda, FL.
The second generation S-10 was released in 1994, gone were the Syclone, Typhoon and GT versions, but the basic truck was better in every way. This one has had its engine removed and is now powered by a 50KW AC motor controlled by a Hughes Dolphin controller and fed by 52 sealed lead acid batteries. It currently has some kind of electrical fault and bidding is accordingly low. Buy it, drive around, save the planet, and maybe profit.

"It currently has some kind of electrical fault … ". Thus the Bikes?? Or is that a limited range thing?
Poor Il Papa! As my Dad used to say..THAT will be YOUR problem! Meanwhile I'm driving fossil fueled machines like a bat out of hell
Wow, you actually read that entire encyclical?
