1k: Cute & Cheap: 1981 Honda Civic Wagon

The 2nd generation Honda Civic was only available for 4 years, from 1980-1983, a short lifespan for the typical car.  Its front drive lightweight chassis was available as a  3-door hatch, 4-door sedan, 5-door hatch and 5-door wagon.  Find this 1981 Honda Civic Wagon for sale in SF Bay Area, CA for $950 via craigslist.  Tip from Kaibeezy.

The 2nd generation Civic is powered by either a 1.3 or 1.5 liter CVCC engine (a unique lean burn engine with 3rd valve to introduce a stratified a/f ratio), or a 1.3 liter conventional engine, all 4-cylinder gasoline.  The seller doesn’t mention which engine powers this Civic, but the lack of CVCC badge indicates a base engine, good for something around 60 horsepower. The 1600 lb wagon won’t be a rocket, but performance should be on par with anything else that gets 50 mpg.
