1967 Chevrolet Corvair

Few cars stir up feelings as quickly as Chevrolet’s ill fated Corvair.  It was about as revolutionary a compact people’s car to be offered from the Big 3 since the Model T, but it didn’t sell as well as GM expected. Poor sales and an effort by a young lawyer trying to make a name for himself (he who shall not be named on this website) killed the Corvair before it was 10 years old.  Find this 1967 Chevrolet Corvair offered for $5,500 in Raleigh, NC via craigslist. The Corvair is cheapest way to get into anything from the 60s with an aircooled flat-6 mounted out back because these things are cheap and available in various condition for low bucks.  It won’t be V8 muscle car fast in a straight line, but with an interesting weight distribution it will be fun in the turns.
