Its not every day that you can find a smokin deal on ebay – but this 1970 BMW 2002 Roundie offered in Glendora, CA for $1500 certainly qualifies as something smouldering… We think it wouldn’t take $13.5k to shove a Rover V8 into the front and a coat of paint on the outside to make today’s earlier BMW New Class look expensive.
The details in the advertisement are basic at best, so we gave the seller a quick call and he gave us more info. The car has been in his family for 30 years, runs and drives okay, but burns some oil, could use some suspension refresh, probably needs brakes, interior is complete. It needs a good refresh. It also has some rust and the driver seat is off its tracks..which we really hope aren’t related…
Its had no accidents and the salvage title reasons wasn’t clear in our quick conversation, however, it is claimed not due to accident. But…for a roundie with 4spd that runs and drives…this a great deal.

I have to say, I really want one of these and I find myself drawn to them whenever they come up. I just cannot decide if I want to tackle a basket case or just pansy-out and find one already sorted for me.
Of course, the fact that I am even contemplating that question probably indicates the answer.
