10k: High Miles: 2004 BMW 545i 6spd E60
The N62 powered BMW 635Ci posted yesterday was met with some concern from folks who understand the difference between a good deal and a low initial purchase price. Furthermore, the van Hooydonk styled E63 was also universally liked for its smooth front bumper to rear glass shape, but panned for its prominent Bangle butt — so what about another N62 powered BMW, this time from the E60 family? Find this 2004 BMW 545i 6spd E60 offered for $10,000 here on craigslist, located in Irvine, CA.
This E60 has 160k miles on the odometer but according to the seller, all of the maintenance has been done. It isn’t just change the oil kind of stuff you need on a car like this; there is an issue with a coolant pipe in the vee that needs to be addressed, and all sorts of plastic coolant pieces that need to be refreshed every few years.
The seller says: there are no known issues and it drives and looks brand new. Don’t be
fooled by a 70k mile car(it likely needs valve seals, cooling system
overhaul, etc.). One could expect that the 4.4 liter V8 pushing 328 horsepower and 332 ft-lbs of torque into a 6-speed manual gearbox to be as peppy as when new, but the biggest concern would be suspension and subframe bushings getting out of whack. Still…for $10,000, it sure is pretty.

At 160K it's just about due for all that stuff again…
