Triple Webers FTW: 1970 Jaguar XJ6

Today’s first feature is this sweet Series 1 Jaguar XJ6 (1968 – 1973), the cleanest, most elegant version of the long-running XJ sedan shape. A 1970 XJ6 is early enough to have the original slim-bumper, delicate-chrome look, before later safety and emissions changes made the cars heavier-looking and slower. The engine is the classic 4.2-liter Jaguar XK inline-six, but this one has been rebuilt and upgraded with triple SU carburetors, which gives it a more sporting, E-Type-adjacent flavor than the usual sedan tune. Find this 1970 Jaguar XJ6 offered for $7000 in Bellevue, WA via craigslist. Tip from Zach.

SUs, not Webers
It looks like it may have been rebuilt to E-type spec. XJs never had three carbs, and 1970 was probably before the head-stud fiasco, but if it’s been rebuilt, I would imagine that the block-cracking problem has been corrected.
This looks as nice as you can get.
