Tacoma Inside: 1959 Ford Panel Truck

This next truck comes as a tip from David in Tampa who writes: Feast your eyes on this distraction from a possible WWIII, a blast from the year Miles Davis released Kind of Blue and the Mercury 7 were announced. Probe a bit deeper and you’ll find the greasy bits from the era of Drake and Jeff Bezos becoming allegedly an “astronaut”. Wow. Since I described it that way, the greasy bits sound far worse than they really are. Find this 1959 Ford Panel Truck offered for $23,500 in St Petersburg, FL via craigslist.

This is an awesome ride!

NOT FOR THE PURISTS… the 59 truck body is seamlessly married to a Toyota Tundra complete chassis and drivetrain! 4.7 I-force V8, automatic, AC, cruise control, great sounding side pipes… drives incredible with the reliability and speed of a Toyota.

We used this for the Advertising and grocery getter for our bar/restaurant but now got a different ride coming so starting the search for a new home for this ole girl.
Literally drive anywhere, set the cruise contol at 80 and shoot to the keys…no worries at all. Titled and tagged and insured as a 1959 ford so insurance is dirt cheap too!

Looks great but that interior kills it for me.
That steering wheel cover kills it for me.
paint it black and use for rare occasions
I am a purist…….but this does have a strange attraction for me….probably due to my advanced age. But the wheels have to go.
This still looks good on the outside, which come on, is what it’s all about. And while a Tahoe isn’t my idea of a pure driving experience it will provide the truck function in comfort.
I approve.
Duh. Its a Tundra underneath. I double approve.
