Strange Kit: 1992 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo

The fourth and final generation of Oldsmobile’s oddball Toronado debuted in 1986 (and was canned in 1992), was built on a smaller unibody E-body platform that it shared with the Buick Riviera and Cadillac Eldorado. The Troféo version of the Toronado was unusually cool — it had funky hidden headlights, a sporty FE3 suspension, faux dual-exhaust, and one of the better looking Oldsmobile body kits ever fitted to an….Oldsmobile. Find this 1992 Oldsmobile Toronado Trofeo offered for $7250 in Canonsburg, PA via trofeoface booknado.

Seller’s description
Selling my Toronado Trofeo, ‘tomato red’ with gray interior. I’ve enjoyed the car for the last couple years but I now have two of them and one needs to go. Like most old cars it had a list of things to fix along the way. I haven’t gotten to all of them but I’ll list the things I did have done.

1.) New tires
2.) Door card re-attached (bottom was detached)
3.) Passenger window repaired to function properly
4.) Passenger seat forward/backward adjustment restored
5.) Dash lights did not illuminate at night when headlights are on but now they do
6.) Load levelling sensor caused the rear axle to sit at the max height but now it’s correct with a used OEM replacement
7.) Muffler was not factory so I obtained a used OEM one and had it installed and protective coating applied
8.) New headliner, old one was flapping in the breeze
9.) Restored operation of the headlight covers
10.) New rear light bar from another red car, original one was busted

Things that I did not get to

1.) Repairing that crack in the dash
2.) Replacing the AC compressor
3.) Parking brake does not disengage
4.) Cover door in the center console looks good closed but pulls right off if opened
5.) The horn is a button in the footwell, I wanted to reroute it to the steering wheel buttons again

Starts right up and drives great. Body and paint are in fantastic condition, pretty sure it was resprayed by a previous owner. Interior is in nice shape considering the age and being GM from this era. Solid cruiser and handles speed surprisingly well.
