The Volvo 122S Amazon has been a budget hero for the average car guy for as long as I can remember, and today’s example is additional proof that you don’t have to be a Rockefeller or Jeff Bezos’ side piece to drive something cool from the mid 60s. It’ll be helpful if you know how to weld, but not essential. Find this 1965 Volvo Amazon 122S offered for $3000 in Walnut Creek, CA via craigslist.

I have a 1965 Volvo Amazon 122s. B20/SU carbs.
The car has been sitting on and off for the last few years. Runs, drives and stops. I love the car but I don’t have space or money for the project.
Runs and drives great.
It has a new clutch with only probably 500 miles on it.
Recent rear wheel bearings, rear brakes & parking brake cable.
Has a B20 engine with SU carbs, with unknown amount of miles on it, but the engine runs great and is probably worth the price alone.
The floorpans are basically completely rusted out, especially in the back—they will need to be replaced, not patched.
Small amounts of rust on other parts of the car, in particular near the lower corners of the windshield.
The electrical system needs work. Brake lights currently don’t work.
Interior is basically destroyed.
This car was my daily driver for a lot of years and I hate to see it go, so hoping someone will restore it rather than part it out. But there it is!
Serious buyers only. If you’re interested, email. I can show you the car on the weekend, but please don’t waste my time because the car is pretty far from where I am and I have to drive distance to show it.
First reasonable offer takes it. Clean title in hand.
Thanks for looking.
