Who says you can’t buy a mid ’60s domestic muscle car with a stonkin V8 and a pistol-grip 4-speed for around 5 grand? You don’t need to spend $25k like they might tell you over at those fancy auction websites, no sirrr, you just need to shop around and keep your booster shot up to date…pfizer, moderna…nope…tetanus. Find this 1965 Plymouth Barracuda offered for $5500 in Sonoma, CA via craigslist.

1965 Plymouth Barracuda with a 360 motor and a pistol grip 4speed.
Car runs and needs exhaust hooked up. Has disk breaks up front and the rear end is stock.
Has new floor pans that need to be tacked down. Car needs cosmetic body work and paint.

Dodge sure was going for similar lines with both the Barracuda and Charger in this generation…. which I personally can’t stand. (the 68 – 70 Chargers were so much more epic IMO).
Maybe kinda-sorta emulating a similar line from hugely popular Mustang Fastback….
Except these came first.
I thought the Barracuda and Mustang Fastback both came out at the same time… 64? I could be wrong…
Fastbacks came along in 65.
That price… is today “Throwback Thursday� I haven’t seen a realistic price like that for a long time. Though, it still makes me sad that this really should be half that price, but those days are long gone.
Looks like most of the hard to find body and interior bits are still there, even if it needs some bodywork. Not a bad find in today’s market.
