Montana Buffet: 1992 Honda Beat

This next car is a right-hand-drive import from Japan that was never sold new in the USA and is therefore unregisterable in the Golden State of California. Lemme explain. In CA, you can’t register this car because it was not sold new here and therefore does not have a smog test to test it against. There was something known as the Montana loophole where people would register these cars in Montana and drive them around to local OC Cars & Coffee events. Unfortunately, the California Commitee for State Security has recently realized that they need to plug the $18Billion deficit and cracked down on Montana cars driving around California to accomplish this. Contrary to popular belief, this has nothing to do with the 38 grams of annual smog that a Honda Beat might produce and everything to due with the 10% sales tax that millionares don’t pay when buying their next McLaren 888 Fooseball XT Ninja and the subsequent annual tens of thousands of dollars they pay in reg fees to have their favorite supercar sit in the garage. Cali isn’t the first state to go after Montana platers, and youtuber known as Whistlindiesel has been arrested (twice!) by the Poliburto at the Williamson County, Tennessee Department of Revenue and Fishsticks. Anyway, Montana plated cars are now offered in California (and other locales) at a steep discount…just be sure to do your homework, pay your taxes, and avoid the orange jumpsuit. This is not a pristine car. It is rough around the edges and has been priced accordingly. Car is currently registered in Montana with my parents family. I will not answer questions regarding registration in your home state. The car is located in California currently to have the soft top freshly replaced with a friend. Ended up getting a different car, so this is being sold to make space. Title in hand, ready to go
