Mahogany Bay Stallion: 1983 Datsun 280ZX Turbo

This next car comes as a tip from Cosimo who writes: I was scrolling Facebook in my area and came across this listing for a 1983 Datsun 280zx Turbo 2+2 in the marketplace. It’s incorrectly listed as a Nissan 240sx, probably because FB doesn’t have the correct model in their dropdown box. Seller says they’re open to offers. Might make an interesting tip for someone in California. It is a little scruffy for my taste…ehh..who am I kidding, I’ll drive anything with wheels! Find this 1983 Datsun 280ZX Turbo offered for $6000 in Monrovia, CA via fakebook wreckingplace.

Seller’s description

For sale is my 1983 Nissan Datsun 280zx 2.8L Turbo 2+2. This is a rare 280zx model with the combo of turbo and 2+2 (also called a ‘T top’). I’m the second owner (I’ve owned it since 1999). THE GOOD: No accidents, straight body, T top, digital + analog instrument panel, radio, HTR, power windows + power side-view mirrors, folding rear seats. Engine runs well, no smoke or leaks. 5-speed transmission with new clutch assembly shifts well. Tires are near new. WHAT IT NEEDS: Clear coat is peeling (see pictures), so car needs paint. Upholstery is needed to fix aging around the armrest and in other places (see pictures). Rear emergency break needs to be fixed. Hatch door missing 2 strut rods. Air conditioning has a hose leak, fix that and AC is perfect. THE SALE: I’m open to offers. Real buyers only, please no tire kickers. I won’t meet with you unless you are wearing a mask (covering your nose and mouth), are wearing gloves, and understand what social distancing means. Payment by Zelle, PayPal, Venmo, Cash.App only (no cash or checks). Thank you!

See a better way to make everyone think you are poor or eccentric…or eccentrically poor? tips@dailyturismo.com
Always assumed if I found myself poor (eccentric is obvious) I would get a scruffy old pickup truck. But this would do. Keep the louvers? Depends on the latitude, I guess.
