LS Swap Driver: 1973 Buick Century Wagon

I love it when folks are realistic in the asking price for their old heap of metal. And this next car is a really cool old piece of iron…it even has a modern fuel injected Chevy Vortec V8 (probaby an LM7 or other iron block 5.3) shoved under the hood, but the seller isn’t asking some ridiculous king’s ransom and instead of asking for about the cost of a decent LS swap done at an independent shop. The car comes for free. Find this 1973 Buick Century Wagon offered for $6000 in Romulus, MI via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Selling my LS swapped 73 Buick wagon as it was an impulse buy an I’ve had my fun driving it around. Don’t have a place to store it so it’s gotta go.It runs and drives great. Would be a perfect daily as it’s got great road manners and now a more reliable powerplant over factory. Has a 5.3 LS engine swap. Turbo 350. Brand new brakes from master to calipers, lines and cylinders. Has flowmaster duals that dump before the axle. Everything works ( lights, signals, wipers ect) fuel cell in the back so no guage.

Has newer 2014 Chevy caprice 18″ wheels and tires that match the speedo gear until about 65mph then it’s off a couple mph
The bad.
Has a low idle issue on cold starts. After about 30sec idle is normal. It’s for sure an IAC issue.
Floors where replaced by previous owners and not done the best but are sturdy and solid.
Rust hole where spare tire is
Interior plastics are starting to deteriorate.Cool daily cruiser rat rod style. Pulled from a long patina slumber and LS swapped and made to go down the road reliably without touching the body
Car isn’t rust free or perfect so don’t expect it. It’s a sleeper. Pulled from a barn look with 300hp.
$6’000
Cash is king but may trade,Would have to be a good trade but I’m open to what ever I can use. Trucks. Other classics depending on what it is. Rat rods. Guns. Partial trades.
Can also add cash for the right trade.cragars can be worked into the deal as well.

I heard the tree strapped to the top is a 30-footer….
6K Worth of Fugly
That hose down the driveway for pictures thing taken to a whole new level.
Reminds me of a friend’s old beater dodge wagon with a 440 in the 80s. He had invented a cruise control system where you dialed in the cruise speed with a knob and pushed a button to engage or resume cruising. Wide open throttle until you got up to speed. Driving along at 15 with it set to 55 , push the button and it would smoke the tires until it hit 55.
So much want! The patina and modern powertrain make this ugly ducking look so much better.. Waiting to hear back on a few questions, maybe a fly in/drive out scenario 😋
