Honest Classic: 1966 Volvo 122S Sedan

The term honest classic doesn’t have a good definition in major established media, but if I were writing the Wikipedia article for the term, I’d use this next car for the cover image. It has the all the charisma and class you need to park next to a Mercedes 300SL without being embarrassed, but you could also take it shopping at Walmart and park next to a Honda…it really doesn’t care. Find this 1966 Volvo 122S offered for $6000 in Chico, CA via craigslist.

I am 3rd owner of this car.
It runs great and looks good.
Some small dings and bumps here & there.
Overall-Very Presentable.
Your mother won’t be ashamed when you drive up (Ex-wives are a different story).
Has newer 1967 P1800 engine
I just put new tires and shocks on it.
Also, New Dash
(Car is in Chico)

Nice car. That inviting interior would look great under a red, green or gray paint job, rather than dull beige-yellow. What is that, “scalp” or maybe “blister”?
Think of the money you would save on parking tickets!
Take the printouts to the judge, ”your honor, these tickets are all for different colors of car”
In NYC a chevy tailgate on a ford pickup is great for generating defective tickets when the police don’t bother to get out of their patrol car.
Hmmmm.American flag stuck in dash………….wrong engine……..might be a Communist subversive trying to throw us off the trail. We won’t be fooled!.
