Happy Birthday America: 1967 Ford F250

It didn’t take long on my local craigslist to find something appropriately “America” to feature today, but I did hit a jackpot of freedom. This next car is as American as apple pie — it is a Ford F250 built during the era when America was in the world’s driver’s seat. Additionally the current owner is selling to make room for a new baby, how much more will he/she have to pay to buy this car back again when the kid heads off to college? Happy Birthday America! Find this 1967 Ford F250 offered for $15,000 in Marina Del Rey, CA via craigslist.

See a better way to drive the American dream?
Manual 3 speed stick shift (reverse 4th gear) in indy H configuration
What’s that even mean? Had a beater Maserati once that would go 60mph in reverse, not that I ever tried that or the 160 in fifth. If it’s a three speed, I always thought the three on the tree was faster and easier to shift than a three foot long floor shift.
Do Indy cars have a reverse gear?
Beautiful looking truck though, reminds me of the F100 I daily drove in Manhattan.
I’m spitballing here..but there is an “Indy” labeled floor shift ( I happen to have one in my ’72 C-10 ) that is an H pattern with first at the top of the left leg of the H, Reverse at the bottom, Third at the top of the other leg of the H and Second on the bottom of the leg below 3rd.
It’s a pain as I have to think about shifting ( that and the damn pins keep falling out of tranny shift rods as the Indy frame holding the shifter keeps unbolting)
I think of it as a Corvette pattern, dont know why.
But damn it , it’s ‘Merica. Shift any old damn thing you want!
A handful of heim joints and a left and right handed thread cutter and a couple feet of rod plus some hardware store nuts and bolts can make a incredible improvement on a worn out shifter. Summit Racing has great prices on rod ends. I use them in a floor tom with a tuning pedal I built for a drummer friend.
Agreed. I too had an F100 daily driver. I think it was a 76. But in the opposite of NYC; the island of Maui. What a great truck.
The word petrol in a Craigslist ad for an american truck is always a bit fishy.
