Green Machine: 1966 Plymouth Barracuda

By 1964, Plymouth was deep into its push to make Mopar muscle something more than just straight-line speed, and the Barracuda stood out as the oddball with vision—literally. With its enormous wraparound rear window and fastback styling, the ’64-66 Barracuda was a stylistic leap housed on the compact Valiant platform and powered by a slant-6 or a 273ci V8. This particular example wears a coat of metallic green with subtle ghost flames, adding a touch of custom flair to its already distinctive shape. It’s rust-free, runs and drives, and just needs a tune-up to fully come alive. Find this 1966 Plymouth Barracuda offered for $12000 in Hastings, MN via facecuda barrabook. Tip from MB.

i remember the first time after becoming driving age -1977-78ish- i saw one of these parked and was able to spend time looking at it. was metallic beige. didnt think the front end matched the sexy back of the cabin. 2nd gen front clip would have been great on this. now wondering , with all the actual metal geniuses who build their own franken versions – or those simply working in photoshop if there has ever been a twisted genius that grafted this roof & rear glass onto the earlier ( notably hideous ) 60-62 valiant sheet metal.
