Before the Corvair became Ralph Nader’s favorite punching bag, it was Chevrolet’s most unconventional production car: rear engined, air cooled, independent suspension at all four corners, and marketed as Detroit’s answer to European engineering. However, today we’ve got a Vair where the transmission was flipped around and a 283 cubic inch small block Chevy is mounted where the rear seats should be. Converted to mid-engine (283 small block Chevy V8) with intent to swap in built 327 (Externally identical) — swap performed in ~1969

3 speed manual w/ Hurst shifter

Registered and driven in NY through 1976

Due to hassles with registering it at the time in NJ, it’s been garage kept since 1976 and not driven since then. No rust.
