Fun Sized: 1987 Nissan Be-1

The Nissan Be-1 is one of the original Japanese “Pike cars,” a wonderfully odd little design experiment that came out of Nissan’s Pike Factory styling group in the late 1980s. Underneath all that cheerful retro bodywork is much more ordinary hardware from the K10 Nissan March/Micra, which means front-wheel drive, simple mechanicals, and a tiny 987cc MA10S four-cylinder. Find this 1987 Nissan Be-1 offered for $9500 in Portland, OR via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

Good tires on very rare Nissan Figaro Michelotti 13” wheels.

The Nissan Be-1 was the first to roll out of the Nissan Pike factory, where Figaro, S-cargo, and Pao’s were made. Only about 10,000 Be-1’s were built between 1987-1988, and because of popularity in Japan were put on a lottery winning system in order to purchase.
