El Cadillacamino: 1997 Cadillac Seville

This next car came as a tip from Jim who writes; This car is like a mullet with a tuxedo. Yes, like Pabst Blue Ribbon in a champagne flute. Like roadkill served on fine bone china. Like a Raider’s linebacker in full uniform heading to Centre Court at Wimbledon. Like an expensive car featured on Daily Turismo. Find this 1997 Cadillac Seville flower car offered for $6998 in Norwalk, CT via craigslist.

At first glance, this looks like a hearse for a large, flat, very heavy thing, perhaps a Horta. Possibly the same Horta I quoted a couple of weeks back. Then I noticed the description mentions “flower car”, which I had to google, and turns out to be the car that carries flowers at a funeral, so there’s that.
I knew a tattoo artist in Santa Barbara who drove a hearse, in part because it was big enough for her three wolfhounds. I don’t know anyone with a Horta. I suppose an ATV or small boat would fit nicely on the back of this car, if you could jigger some sort of ramp or have a hoist at both ends of the trip. Good launch/landing pad for a large drone.
I’d just use it like a pickup and take it to Home Depot, etc. Maybe I’d even add larger tires and taller suspension to lift it a couple inches. I’m sure it could handle the same load as a mini truck or maybe even a half ton.
I’ve always wanted one of these. I’ve wanted a Cadillac hearse too, but this is more socially acceptable parked in front of the house. A flower car looks like a custom to most people. A hearse looks like a hearse.
Thought it was a flatbed. Now I see it’s more like a truck. Seems like the kind of vehicle where you’d want to post several photos.
