Cool Old Thing: 1973 AMC Hornet Coupe

The AMC Hornet was a compact family car built as a replacement for the Rambler American brand/model starting in 1970. Hornet production continued through 1977 when it was superseded by the AMC Concord and the groundbreaking AMC Eagle crossover utility vehicle. Todays example is a simple Hornet coupe, but it is covered in a cool shade of bronze and I like it. Find this 1973 AMC Hornet Coupe bidding for $7,350 with a few hours to go located in Windsor, CO via ebay.

From the seller:

LOW RESERVE! VERY NICE AMC HORNET NOT MANY OF THESE LEFT. THIS BETTER THAN AVERAGE SHAPE.

The mechanics on this vehicle is excellent, so no worries for the buyer there. Has the 360 4 barrel automatic…Runs smooth shifts smooth, glass perfect, all gauges work interior not torn up all there with newer carpet and headliner intact. Motor a 360 redone with small cam has great rumble to it with new dual exhaust, tires.

This vehicle is by NO MEANS a “A” rating restore! it still needs personal touches if you want. Has some bondo on rear passenger quarter, but done well. Paint is a 7 out of 10. But overall your getting a pretty sound good looking car just as it is. Best part is the mechanicals are perfect!

Buyer is responsible for shipping so consider that in your bid. The vehicle is in Windsor, Co. 80550. Prefer Cashiers check after bid to alleviate EBAY or PayPal fees. Can store until ready, do have some shipper #s if needed.

To clear up any confusion this is 360 motor in it not the original. This 360 was rebuilt with a small cam sounds great runs great. The VIN designation is “H” which designates it originally had a 304. This car’sVIN # A3C3037H336990

A= AMC
3 = 1973
C= 3spd auto on the floor
3=car series
0=body type
3=body class
7=Hornet
H=motor 304 c.i.
336990 what # of car it was when made.

304 and 360 motors were the Hornet X models, but I believe were in the Levi interior additions. Maybe someone knows out there.
