Cobra Style: 1974 Jensen Healey Ford V8

The seller of this next car describes it as “old school looks with modern reliability”…but sticking through the hood appears to be an old school Edelbrock (which is a copy of the Carter AFB) carburetor which is mounted on a Ford small block V8…modern? I guess everything is relative, but perhaps “old school British looks with American reliability” is what the seller was going for. Find this 1974 Jensen-Healey offered for $26,950 in Beverly Hills, CA via craigslist.

I like it except…for all the sh*t sticking up through the hood (bonnet?)
Don’t forget the BFHB sticking up next to the passengers seat.
The green shade selected, minimal windscreen and big circle get me to the Aston DB3S look they were probably going for. I dig it more than I should.

Yup. That junk sticking up through the hood is like a turd in a punchbowl.

Good concept, poor execution. The asking price is probably less than the build cost, but it still seems a little high to me. But lots of bang for the buck regardless.
Well, looks like you can go to a plumber if the lump overheats. If you can buy it at Home Depot, it does not belong in you engine bay.
It’s very disappointing when you have to say that the engine actually DETRACTS from the over all visual appeal.
No word on any STRUCTURAL reinforcing that would be needed for the increase in torque.
And… don’t go drag racing… you could twist those wire wheels apart way to easy!
Wait, where does the exhaust go?
Can you blend smoothies up front?
Jensen Healey under rated totally gorgeous car.
