Can You Afford To Not Buy This? 1995 Bentley Turbo R

This next car comes as a tip from Rock On who writes: This could be a cheap project or an expensive paper weight. Yes, indeed. This car has 60k miles on the odometer and a base price of $203.5k in 1995…down to 1.7% of the original asking price. That’s gotta be a record of some kind. Legit $3.30 per mile in depreciation alone. Find this 1995 Bentley Turbo R offered for $3,500 in Lilburn, GA via craigslist.

The vehicle has been sitting for 14 months and has not started up since. This vehicle also has 2 flat tires in the front that will need to be replaced as well. But other then that the interior is almost near perfect with wood grain, leather seats and carpet that looks great. Lastly there is just some wear and tear on the driver and passenger side seats. The back seats are nearly perfect. Great vechile if your looking to restore or gain parts for salvage.

That driver seat looks like it has seen a lot more than 60k miles. Too bad this car doesn’t have an ‘hours’ meter.
Jeez, wouldn’t this be right up Mike & Ant’s alley on that flippity bippety show? Those guys gave upholstery folks that could fix that front seat for cheap.
IF you could get this to run reliably it would be an amazing purchase. I worked for a guy who had the non-turbo version and it was constantly in the shop. He bought it so he wouldn’t have a car payment, after leasing Mercedes for years. Turns out he ended up spending the price of the car a second time in repairs in the first 20 months of ownership. His next car was a Lexus.
The problem was that when it was running well, it was a dream. Huge and comfortable, but also easy to place and surprisingly rapid. Adding a turbo would make this even more fun.
“I bought this Bentley to save money”, is something I never thought I’d hear.
It will never, ever run reliably. However, it might be a comfy homeless shelter.
$3500, if you were wanting to do the work parting it out I bet you could make the money back. I know it’s heresy but seems like this would be a fun one to put a Hemi or LS in.
Can I afford not to buy this? Why yes, yes I can afford to not buy this. I’ve never felt richer in my life. Thank you daily Turismo for this overwhelming feeling of wealth going into the weekend. Think I’ll stop by the Walmart and peruse their selection of flip-flops I feel so damn rich
Never buy a Bentley from someone that cain’t spel.
These things are always in the shop… ALWAYS.
