The seventh generation of Lincoln’s Continental platform was part of Ford’s downsizing trend and ended with the Continental moving from the Panther platform to the unibody Fox platform. The Continental was now a mid-sized car and was available with things like V6 power and…gasp…a diesel engine!! Today’s Continental has the Ford 5.0 small block V8 and a wicked coat of Burgundy paint. About this vehicle
This 1987 Lincoln Continental has only 74703 miles on it. The car starts right up , runs and drives smooth and quiet – A/C blows ice cold tires are nearly new . Paint color is called Cabernet , it’s burgundy . The paint finish is very good to excellent, with a few minor scratches, interior is also very nice condition, leather seats have no damage , all windows work well , keyless entry also works excellent , rear view mirror has auto dimming feature. This vehicle also has full air suspension that works perfectly. The digital odometer shows the car’s actual mileage but sometimes it reads error , the odometer always calculates the car’s mileage but the display somtimes reads error . I have a lot of paperwork that goes with the car , also 3 sets of keys .

Up for auction is a 1987 Lincoln Continental with only 74 703 actual miles. The car starts right up and runs excellent , it runs very smooth and quiet . Paint finish is very good to excellent with a few minor imperfections , color is called Cabernet . All options work , as well as windows and keyless entry system which also opens the trunk and locks the car .the rear view mirror also has auto dimming. The air conditioner blows ice cold . This car is equipped with full air suspension that works great. The odometer shows the car’s actual miles but sometimes the display shows the word error, when the miles come back on it always calculates the miles but sometimes the display reads error. Leather interior is in very nice condition with no unusual wear , carpet and headliner are perfect. I have a lot of paperwork that came with this car and 3 sets of keys .

I often wonder why I don’t see more (or really any) of these Fox-body Contis souped-up with Fox-body Mustang upgrades to make a “Hot Rod Lincoln”.
Maybe along with that, also give the exterior trim some interpretation of what Lincoln might’ve come up with if they’d developed a “Continental LSS” (Luxury Sport Sedan) variant as a companion for the Mark VII LSC:
Let’s see… give it alloy wheels, black-out or body-color the grille slats, paint the bumpers body-color or metallic graphite, remove the chrome sill/rocker/wheelarch trim, black-out the insides of the headlight buckets, lightly smoke the taillights and front parking/signal/cornering lenses, and maybe shave the CONTINENTAL lettering from the trunk hump.
I was selling Lincoln/Mercurys when these came out. A customer complained to the owner of the dealership that his Mark VII LSC rode too rough. So the owner swapped the wheels and tires off a Continental onto the LSC. So I have seen one of these cars with alloys!
Instead of shaving the CONTINENTAL maybe replace it with INTERCONTINENTAL in keeping with the cruise missile theme.
One of these with a modern 5.0 Coyote V8 and a 6-speed would be the bee’s knees.
