A Nice Camry: 1990 Lexus ES250

This next car comes as a tip from Johnny Bouncewell who writes; Cheap manual Lexus? Those words just dont get put together very often. I mean, its just a tarted up Camry, but thats hella cheap for a First Generation Lexus. The original first gen ES was indeed just a Camry but it showed the world that you could drive a luxury car and not pay luxury maintenance tax on it. Find this 1990 Lexus ES250 offered for $2000 in Albuquerque, NM via craigslist.

It also says “$1500 today, $500 in 2 weeks”. Is it worth the gamble to wait 2 weeks and score the deal at the risk of it getting sold to someone else first? I probably wouldn’t wait if I was looking to buy, but I’d sure work to negotiate down towards the $500, because clearly the seller is willing to let it go for that. Makes you wonder what qualifies as “minor repairs” in his mind.
I think she/he means that she/he is willing to hold the car and your $1.5K for up to 2 weeks while you come up with the remaining $500. :)
Aha, I’m sure you’re right. That never crossed my mind. I think I’m just so cheap that I’m always seeing deals where they don’t exist.
In the past I have seen some listings that say “I’m going to drop the price $500 each week until it sells”. I assumed this was one of those savvy sellers.
You’ve buried the lede here: This is a manual transmission Lexus ES250. That’s got to be a unicorn!
In the first image that bumper looks like it’s 1/2 way there on a bōsōzoku build.
