6-Speed Swapped: 2003 Audi S8

The first generation Audi S8 was built on the Audi A8 (internally named D2) platform and first sold in Europe for the 1996 model year. It was later exported into the USA (from 1999-2002) where it was equipped with a 360 horsepower version of Audi’s DOHC 4.2 liter V8. The S8 was available with a slick 6-speed manual over in Europe while most (or maybe all) sold in the USA had a meh-speed slushbox. Today’s S8 has been given an injection of clutch and some ginormous wheels that need to be sent back to the underworld from whence they came and replaced with the stock Avus 6-spoke wheels. Find this 2003 Audi S8 offered for $13,900 in Rye, NY via craigslist. Tip from Cory who reminds us that this is Ronin approved.

2003 D2 Audi s8 with 01e 6 speed manual conversion. Very rare car. Only 300 S8s imported into the US in 2003 and only 100 in this color combination. Blast to drive with the 6 speed.

Just spent over $8,500 on the car getting in it great shape (bearings, tie rod ends, shocks, springs, bushings, solid axles, new windshield and more). OEM S5 Rims. Edge Motors the Audi specialist did all the work and I have receipts. Timing belt, water pump, oil line and brakes done by PO.
Some minor cosmetic things but overall really nice. Was going to keep a long time but picked up another project so would like the room.
These are becoming more collectible. I added a recent BAT result in the pics for a similar 6sp swapped car with more miles.
Would be open to interesting trades up or down (no motorcycles). Would trade for other interesting cars or a center console Whaler, Mako, Pursuit etc
