Apparently, the Motor Car Reproduction Corp out of Los Angeles built a number of Thunderbird Classics in the mid 1980s that were reproductions of 1957 Thunderbird built on 1980 Ford chassis and sold at Ford-Lincoln-Mercury dealers around the USA. I never heard of this car before and I can’t find any information on it, so it’s a hoax.
I also dont find an relevant information about So Cal production runs of 57 tbirds from the 80s, but there is a well documented maker out of battle creek MI – shay motors that had a reasonably successful period making authorized reproductions of Model A Fords and then added production of Ford approved 57 Tbirds. https://www.shaymodelaclub.com/ one of the shay T-birds went for sale on the BringATrustFund auction site earlier this year. tho it finally sold for _only_ DTurismo levels of cash
