5-Cylinder Turbo: 1985 Audi 8080

If you get easily confused by Audi’s model nomenclature in the 80s/90s, you are not alone. I get lost when Audiphiles start talking about the 80, 90, 100, 200, 4000, 5000, Coupe, Quattro, Fox, 5+5…for a company that only made 3 or 4 models at a time, it is complete nomenclature chaos. Today’s…errr…Audi…is advertised as an 80 but it looks like a Coupe or CoupĂ© GT or Quattro, has an upgraded 3B 20V 5-cylinder turbo engine and I’m sure someone in the comments will tell us what it is. Typical Audi issues of this era, dash gauges work intermittently. Does not have ac but heat works.Overall a decent example of a classic Audi, would be great candidate for someone to go through and tidy up the engine swap or drive as is for a fun enthusiast cruiser.
Will consider trades up or down for 20v turbo sedans or 3.2 Audi tts

Already marked as Sold, no surprise as this was a steal for one of these in this condition with a running, driving 20v turbo swap — the most powerful production variant of Audi’s straight-5 engine.
As for being listed as an “Audi 80”, FB only offers limited menu options to select a make/model if you select Vehicle Type: Car/Truck, so sellers with older or more obscure cars often wind up selecting the closest approximation of make/model and putting the real make/model in the description. However, selecting Vehicle Type: Other will let you manually enter any arbitrary make/model you want.
Officially, this would have been an Audi Coupe GT in the US market, based on the VW/Audi B2 platform that also underpinned the Audi 4000 sedan (aka Audi 80 or higher-spec 90 outside the US), the original Audi Quattro (this body style, but with box-flared fenders), and the VW Quantum (aka Passat or Santana outside the US).
How can a car that is darn near 40 years old look so modern? Truly impressive.
