4-Speed, V8, Cloth: 1998 Ford F150 XL

When do you supposed the last 4-speed manual gearbox equipped car left an American assembly line — if you said 1998, I wouldn’t be surprised, but according to Murilee “Phil” Martin at Autoweek it was 1996 with the Toyota Tercel for cars, but the Ford F150 was available with a 4-on-the-floor for a few more years. Find this 1998 Ford F150 XL offered for $3995 in Albuquerque, NM via craigslist.

1998 Ford F-150 XL extended cab step side bed – 4.6L V8 4speed manual. This truck is super clean! The interior is like new. No rips or any wear at all. AC and heat work perfect. Has rear seating. It’s in great mechanical condition with zero problems or any issues. This truck runs and drive strong! And very smooth. New battery. Almost new tires. Chrome wheels. New brakes. The exterior is also very clean! Has a clean NM title. I’m asking $3,995 firm cash only.

Wow… I had no idea you could get these trucks with a 4 speed, or that they even made a 4 speed / modular motor combo.
I had a 98 5 speed/4.6 4×4, was a good truck. Got it for $750 because of the rust, drove it for a year, didn’t put anything but gas in it, sold it for… $750
That has to be a typo – no 4 speed manuals with this body style.
