Yoda Racing Green: 1978 Reliant Scimitar GTE

The Reliant Scimitar is one of those strange classics that you don’t see on the road anymore…and you probably didn’t see when new either. The standard coupe GT version looks like any number of classics on the road, but the shooting brake GTE version is something special. It looks like a car that would have the spare tire mounted in the engine bay in front of the engine instead of inside the huge rear cargo area, because why not? Find this 1978 Reliant Scimitar GTE offered for $15,750 in Bethlehem, PA via facesmork groguplace.

1978 Reliant Scimitar GTE Shooting Break. Imported from England by previous owner. I have enjoyed it for about 10 years. A very easy driving car but I need to sell down. Y collection.I did a full body strip and repaint shortly after purchase. I also reupholstered seating and all new custom carpets fitted. I am a lifelong body man so it is all in my wheelhouse.
Power comes from a Ford Essex 3.0 V6 with a Ford C3 automatic transmission. Extremely reliable and easy to drive this right hand drive car.
This is a factory built fiberglass body car on a steel tube chassis with 4 wheel coilover suspension and triangular 4 link live axle diff.
Sorry no trades, trying to downsize my collection.

I see these fairly regularly. But then again I see whisky distilleries, shortbread factories, ironmongers shops, and day after day of dreary gray rain fairly regularly, so it all fits together.
There was a nice dark blue one up the road from me for a while. Sadly, often parked under a seagull hangout, which left it looking like a bowl of blueberries and cream.
Living the dream!
Mmm scotch and shortbread.
