Yellow, But Not Mellow: 1973 Plymouth Satellite Custom Wagon

The third generation Plymouth Satellite featured sporty “fuselage” styling that it shared with its corporate C-Body cousins (Dodge Charger, Dodge Coronet, and Plymouth Roadrunner). However, nobody had a face like the Satellite — that mustached frown is just too good, particularly on the once lamented, now loved wagon version. Find this 1973 Plymouth Satellite Custom Wagon offered for $8,850 in Long Beach, CA via craigslist.

Nice and presentable, starts and idles perfect. Runs, shifts and stops well. Took the family to Disneyland over the weekend, old but reliable.

One owner previously.
Brady Bunch legend!
318 V8 2 barrel with TorqueFlite 3 speed auto transmission with added overdrive unit with selectable lockup speed controller (choose what speed you want it to shift into “4th” gear). Engine rebuilt. Carb rebuilt. New fuel pump. Original A/C car (inop). Lots of receipts! Also factory service manuals. Pre-75 so no smog requirements, fully insured and registered until 2/23.
No leaks. It needs tires but I know it’s a personal preference and the new owner gets to make that choice. Vibrates at freeway speeds, could be tires. Rust on some panels but undercarriage very clean and dry.

Hot damn. That is some wagon sweetness right there. Reminds me of my 1976 Gran Torino wagon I inherited from my grandmother in the late 80s. Yellow. 352 with joyful fingertip steering, and dark green seats that would just float you down the highway at 75 all day long. Good times.
