Wood You? 1988 Buick Electra Estate Wagon
This next car comes as a tip from Art C who writes: Wood grain, velour, anemic V8 and some of the finest exhaust fumes to waft through an open rear window this side of chernobyl. Whats not to like? Here ya go. You had me at Chernobyl. Find this 1988 Buick Electra Estate Wagon offered for $1800 in Cranston, RI via craigslist.
From the seller:
Here is a classic 1988 Buick Electra estate wagon. The color is chocolate brown metallic with very nice light wood grain paneling on the sides. The interior is in beautiful condition, it is a beige velour cloth The car has good breaks, battery, exhaust etc. tires are all nice with about 75% tread. I also have one extra white wall tire with good tread for it. This classic Car runs great but right now has a carburetor issue and needs some carburetor work done to it. Would be great for the car shows and cruise nights coming up soon. Everybody always comments about when they grew up their parents had an old station wagon like this etc. It really is a fun car to drive and gets lots of thumbs up’s.

Reduced to $1600! And I bet $1500 cash would do the trick.
If I was local I would buy this today. Cosmetically it's great shape and if the carburetor is truly the issue this is a steal.
There's some great fuel injection conversion kits I'd be throwing on this tank given the opportunity!
It is now down to $1200. Someone is going to get a bargain. If you don't drive a lot of miles, the difference in fuel mileage is a pretty minor part of car ownership.
Maybe the deal of the year! Upholstery looks like it could use a good cleaning and David's idea about F.I. wow.
Maybe I should call my cousin. He lives in RI. At that price, it would make a good dog car.
$1200…!!?? SOMEBODY jump on this. Time to call your cuz George!
And bonus that is in Cranston, the New Jersey of Rhode Island.
edit: *it is in Cranston. Oh how I hate a typo.
We had one of these growing up, loved it. I'm in Albany, NY, and am interested. How many miles on the car and aside from the carburetor issue, how's the overall condition? Much rust?
