1962 Volkswagen Baja Bug “Wild Turkey” – Custom Truck Conversion

One-of-a-kind vintage Baja Bug with a full truck bed conversion, tons of history, and fresh mechanical upgrades. This unique VW blends classic styling with off-road capability and has been part of the same family for decades. Originally built by my father-in-law in the 1970s while working at a VW shop in San Francisco. He added the custom truck body using a prototype mold, and the car was featured in Hot VW Magazine in 1979. Over the years, he sold and repurchased it multiple times, most recently in 2014. Since then, the Bug has received a 1915cc engine, rebuilt transaxle, and many other upgrades. He passed away a few years ago and left the car to my son. We’ve since tuned it up and now drive it regularly.
