Why Let Kids Have All The Fun: 2005 Subaru Outback XT

For a few generations now, the Impreza has been the fun car in Subaru’s USA lineup — it is the only car that gets the awesome STI (Subaru Tecnica International) treatment and is styled by a teenager.  However, does that mean that only flat-brim wearing Impreza drivers get to have all the fun? Heck no — because Subaru put some of their secret sauce (it comes in a spinning noise maker) into most of their models including the all-grown-up Outback.  Find this 2005 Subaru Outback XT offered for $6,500 in Boise, ID. Tip from FuelTruck.

I’m going to be honest with you and admit that I’m not entirely sure where the Outback ends up in Subaru’s lineup today, because there was a time when it was a trim option on a Legacy, but it was also sold as part of the Impreza lineup.  Regardless, in this one it has a version of the 2.5 liter turbo flat-4 that is rated at 243 horsepower and mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox.  Not bad for a car designed for grown-ups.
