Wheelie Nuts: 1984 Pontiac Fiero

This next car comes as a tip from Hugh who writes: You know how awkward it is when you see that some “car guy” is embarrassed that their fiero has a transverse power train and rebodies it to resemble a famous longitudinal engine car? I mean it’s half a Miura without the transmission and engine sharing oil. Why don’t we we ever see Miura body kits anyway? Anyway, here is a more extreme example of transverse-phobic Fiero ownership. Some Guy buys this, never drives it and puts in a garage for six years. So is it really a Wheelie Stander or just a theoretical one? No pics of it ever doing what it was built for.
It’s not really a good selling point.
SkidRow… see that rash on the front passenger side?
Maybe it was driven once.
-Stan (who actually prefers walking and driving to wheelies).
Impressive bodywork.
Especially the rear engine cover. Do ya think it melted?
-Stan (who prefers his steaks medium rare… and his cars well done)
Pretty sure that the original lid is plastic like the rest of the body and that this is made of sheet metal hit with a hammer until it sort of fits. That’s the way Sergio Scaglietti did it, right?
It looks like rather than measure it he dropped the engine on the lid and cut around it. Actually I’m pretty sure it’s exactly what he did.
