Wheeeeeeel Base: 1980 Toyota Pickup
The HiLux is legendary for its rugged chassis and bulletproof R-series engines– even the nay-saying
blithering idiots guys over at Top Gear are fans of the simple pickup and it isn’t built in Britain. Toyota released in the first HiLux back in 1968 as a replacement for their Stout pickup, and production of the little machine lasted through 1995 for the US market, but it continues to be built in various other markets and we get the larger Tacoma pickup. Today’s example is an EXTRA long wheelbase version that should be good for a double take (or two). Find this 1980 Toyota Pickup offered for $2000 in Shingletown, CA via craigslist. Tip from Terry B.

Up for sale is a 1980 toyota extra- long pickup truck. This thing is bad ass. Runs and Drives good but will need some tlc. Has a 20r motor with a 5 speed. match set of rims. pop button doors, luvers in the hood. In no-op needs smog. $2000
See a better way to six wheel it? tips@dailyturismo.com
I gather that the only function of the extra axle is to make you pay extra at the tollbooth and maybe need a class B drivers licence.

There is really a place named Shingletown?
A little town just east of here. (Redding, CA)

Perfect, now where did I leave my six 18" Lanzar subwoofers?
All I see is a metric ton of SoCal mini truck potential here. There was this dude who I went to Mission Viejo High with back in ‘88 who drove what I though was the raddest mini ever, a Toyota (YO) with a super clean white topper and hot pink stripe down the sides. For the life of me I cannot remember the truck’s name, which was airbrushed on the topper backlight.
Anyway, I would mini the hell out of this thing…and then sell it for a huge loss in 6 months, after I humbly accept the fact that it will never see daylight with me behind the wheel because 45y/o man and all.
I've been thinking a lot about mini trucks lately. Unfortunately I think I am too old to pull one off
Don't know if you guys read grassroots but there are others like us on there.

Needs some disintegrating cube or heartbeat pulse graphics, but he's already done the hard work towards making this an awesome period piece minitruck.
Yes!! These!
Any takers?
Make luvers in the hood, not war
Someone dumped this same model truck on the road in front of our driveway.
A real POS. A refugee from "cash for clunkers".
Yours looks new in compassion.
Can you give me the make and model number?
I can't seem to find another one.
