What Am I? Framed
Welcome to Daily Turismo’s weekly What Am I, the only quiz on the internet that tackles all the hard questions that political candidates are unwilling to touch. What “car” does this chassis belong under?
What am I? Comments below.
Hmmmm, rear engine—beefy stressed engine cradle……strange attachment points at rear for something……..I'm thinking.
A Ferrari 275.
Well done Don!
Seville.
I'm thinking a COE truck from the 1960's but I would like a hint Wanda!
1965 Ferrari 275 …
It allegedly had a Devin body on it at one time.

Thirty grand with six days to go.
Given titles and VINs your local ornamental-iron shop could take a break from building stair railings for a week and turn out a dozen of these.
Of course you'd still have to have Giuseppe and his mallet and sandbags to beat out the rest.
This one is driving me crazy. Maybe a Corvair-derived dune buggy? Possibly modified to hold a mid-engine powertrain?
And that guy wants $30k …..for that….. …. how about I dig out my welder buy some cold rolled 1018 tube with .035 wall and make you a couple of those for that price
You missed the part about a real Ferrari title.
Same thing with vintage Trans-Am race cars. The shell is easily replaced, it's the SCCA brass tag that's worth the money.
Ok, at the risk of nit-picking, I have to ask….why was "car" in quotes in the hint? Last I checked, there is no dispute in the automotive community that the Ferrari 275 was definitively a car. That little nuance sent me down a rat hole looking for things that were on the fence for not being defined as cars.
Nonetheless, nice job to Don for figuring this one out!
FTB — I don't know why I put it in quotes…but the best What Am I?s are the ones that everybody spends hours of time searching and finding other interesting stuff on the web…right? 🙂

With the exception of the air conditioning unit, I completely concur. 🙂
As others have said Ferrari 275 (in Belgium).
Here's a link to Barn Finds post which has a link to 20 plus pages in the Ferrari forum where Tom S states he would have bid up to 250K for the special frame he found on Ebay and paid just a tenth of that–less than the current bid on this one.
WARNING: Do not click on the Ferrari forum link unless you have LOTS of time to spend!

That's where I saw it and its story, parts that are known anyway.
