Was LT1 4-Speed: 1971 Chevrolet Corvette

We all know that the C3 generation Corvette (1968-1982) are not the most desirable generation of the Corvette…something to do with a floppy chassis and smog throttled engines…but I find the body shape to be pleasing to the eye. Even when crusty. Find this 1971 Chevrolet Corvette bidding for $10,000 in Armonk, NY via ebay with 2 days to go.

From the seller:
Up for sale is my 1971 Corvette. Factory War Bonnet Yellow over Black. Originally an LT1 car (still has original 6500 redline tach) unfortunately engine was stolen in the 80s. Now has a brand new 383 stroker with 489 Horsepower from BluePrint Engines that was dropped in about a year or two ago, have receipts for $6000. Runs and drives like an animal, but is a project car and will need to have shipping arranged. The red seats were just in there for a test fit, they do NOT go with the car. I have boxes filled with most of the parts you’ll need to put her back together (some being brand new) as it was complete before being disassembled for restoration. Needs vacuums to be hooked up for headlights & wipers. I do not have seats, door panels or carpet. Frame is immaculate, Birdcage is in ok shape, scaling a little around the top of the windshield. I have a clean transferrable registration. Would prefer cash and local pickup, but will work with buyer. PM me with more questions. Sold AS-IS, I have it listed locally as well.Item specifics

At first I thought the price crazy, then I read about the engine. For a moment I was on board. Then they say no seats? Come on is there 2 grand in seat there? If so raise the price by $2,000 and just sell it. OR pull the 8 bolts remove the seats and take a second picture. If you are too lazy to remove something before posting I always assume you were lazy AF with other stuff as well.
I remember looking at one house for sale where the kitchen had just been redone in acres of godawful pink “cultured marble”, fussy white painted cabinetry, ornate gold drawer pulls, on and on. We weren’t going to pay extra for it, and it would have been an unimaginable waste to rip it all out when it must have been $50,000 worth of stuff, easy. Had to give the house a pass.
Sometimes you’re better off with an honest mess.
But they are ugly seats.
The 71 C3 is sort of the Goldilocks of C3s. Sorted out design, still has the more attractive chrome bumpers , one of the nicer front fender fake vent designs, no smog in California. On this one the interior is cheap to do the way you want, it has more power than the original for way less money so you can treat it like a car and not an investment. It’s a nice color if repainting in the original color is what you want to do.
Seems like a good deal if you wanted a C3 to actually drive that wasn’t an embarrassingly ugly plastic bumper car and had ideas about how you want it finished.
