Viper SRTruck: 2001 Dodge Dakota

This isn’t the first time we’ve featured this SRT powered pickup, but the price has dropped quite a few Benjamins and it is starting to make sense from a financial perspective.  Find this  2001 Dodge Dakota V10 custom offered for $23,000 in Boise, ID via craigslist.

The Dakota was the mid-sized truck offering from Chrysler from 1987 through 2011, and the Magnum V8 versions were remarkably quick for pickup truck…but not sports car fast.  But Chrysler’s performance group (Street and Racing Technology…aka SRT) never dropped the monster V10 into the Dakota.

The builder of this machine did shoe horn the 488 cubic inch Viper V10 with 400 horsepower and 465 ft-lbs of torque from the first generation RT/10 into the Dakota engine bay.  The builder also kept the beefy 6-speed manual gearbox.
