I love it when an old friend shows up at the right time. And the E28 generation 5-series is a friend..even if I’ve drive a few into the oblivion. I guess it is only two of them…and a proper funeral for any car is a 24 Hrs of LeMons race and that’s me in an E28 that 2nd photo next to the Olds…but not so good later in the race when it had training wheels welded on because one of our drivers kept cutting the track. But that is neither here nor there…because I’m smiling ear to ear looking at this only salvaged once E28 with BBS alloys and lots of life left before I would turn it into a race car. Find this 1987 BMW 528e offered for $5500 in San Diego, CA via craigslist.
From the seller:
1987 bmw 528e
title status: salvage
1987 BMW 528e E28
Ready to sell. smog’d + pink-slip in-hand
I’ve owned the vehicle since 2006 – second owner. The vehicle was previously my daily driver, but now sits garaged and doesn’t get as much use. The vehicle runs great, ready to sell.
Note – it was salvaged in 2007 when I was rear ended by another car going 15mph. They only damage was to the rear/trunk door. I opted to take the insurance claim and repair/replace the trunk door with a take off of another white 1987 5-series.
