Transvairy Cool: 1971 Meyers Manx SR
Bruce Meyers wasn’t the first guy to build a Volkswagen based dune buggy, but he put his name on enough examples that he became the face for low volume VW kit cars in the 1970s. The original Manx dune buggy was developed for jumping over dunes, but in 1970 Meyers introduced the Manx SR, a sports buggy for the road. Find this 1971 Meyers Manx SR offered for $1800 in El Cajon, CA via craigslist.
This Manx SR is a project, but it has some very interesting bones and connective tissue. The body sits on a ’59 VW pan, but the engine is setup to accept a Corvair flat-6 out back and the front is setup for MGB independent front suspension with disc brakes. If you’ve got the time, energy, stamina, and wherewithal to restore this thing…more power to ya!

Those pictures seem to be of two different cars.
@MichaelV – what did you notice that makes you think that?
Looks like a potentially fun project for not a lot of money. I suppose Corvair engines can be found? It is unclear if the missing bits (front glass?) are included.
Looks the same to me, different wheels but same car.
$1800 of awesomeness!
Yep, he's keeping the slots.
Even a 110 horse engine would scoot this along! I wish it were feasible for me. It would be a blast to drive.
Just saw this little guy today. Pretty expensive but looks fun.
