The Starsky Bunch: 1973 Ford Gran Torino Wagon

The 1972 restyle of Ford’s Torino saw the model split into two styles, the basic Torino or the fancy Gran Torino, which featured a bass mouth grill and a few bonus luxury items. The big change under the skin for 1972 was the switch back to body-on-frame construction, but you could still get it in fastback, hardtop, sedan, or station wagon…the last of which is the proper way to build a Starsky & Hutch tribute car for the family man (or woman). Find this 1973 Ford Gran Torino Wagon offered for $6000 in Watsonville, CA via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!

The Salt Flat Specials look out of place here as much as Superfly headlight covers would on this car.
Starsky’s sciatica is acting up and Hutch’s groin pull is such that with their advanced age they have moved on to this wagon. “Slow down, slow down” yells Hutch abruptly……….as they careen around a corner chasing a jaywalker….and are promptly rearended by a Bizarrini.
