That’ll Buff Out: 1970 Lotus Europa

The Europa was a sporty two seater built by Colin Chapman’s Lotus Cars in Norfolk, UK. Only 9300 of these high-butted gems were built between 1966-1975 and in today’s world of overpriced junk (see Porsche 912 or 914 prices…ahem) the Europa is still surprisingly affordable, especially when they’ve got a smashed up front end. Anyway, how expensive can fiberglass repair be? Find this 1970 Lotus Europa offered for $10,000 in Lebanon, OH via spacesmash baconbook. Tip from Dave.

“This vehicle has no significant damage or problems.” Can we embed the Captain Picard Facepalm GIF in our comments yet? How do we do that?
“For a Lotus, this car has no significant damage or problems.”
There. Fixed it.

You know, fixing the body damage would be a lot easier than what is required to fix most Europas. One could take the opportunity to backdate the nose to series one turn signals and paint it some easier-to-see color like Lotus yellow, french blue, or signal orange. A black Europa seems like a bad idea for a tiny fragile car with no crash protection or AC and windows that just sort of open. Other than the nose this looks to be in really nice shape.
Wish I fit.
