This next car comes as a tip from Matt C who writes: Facebook Marketplace find that popped up: A rather unusual mud toy even by Cartersville, Georgia standards. Indeed, this isn’t your grandfather’s Daihatsu. This thing has been lifted three inches and rides on Mattracks — which means it will go as far as you are willing to deal with the inevitable failures associated with replacing the wheel with about 47 different mechanisms. I’m not saying it won’t be fun…but just watch the Grand Tour when they went to Madagascar. Find this 1996 Daihatsu Hijet offered for $12,500 in Cartersville, GA via facetrack marketank.
The other day I was reading an article about a little piece of machinery that is powered by a Cat C2.2 diesel engine and can traverse just about any terrain, from mud, to snow, to soup — it is the amphibious vehicle called the FAT Truck. This thing is an amazing piece of machinery but it cost $127,000 (not sure if that is CAD or USD, but it is expensive to say the least) so we need to find something cheaper that isn’t quite as capable and maybe needs some elbow grease. As luck would have it, we got this next thing as a tip yesterday: Find this 1970 Playcat 400 offered for $1250 in Anchorage, AK via craigslist.

So for those of you in reader-ville, north of the 50th parallel, here’s something to get you to the mailbox until hope returns. Find this 1999 Jeep Wrangler […]
Suzuki introduced their Kei truck in 1961, but the appropriately named “Carry” got better through the years, and today’s example comes from the tenth generation released in 1999. The Carry still used a cabover style setup also known as FMR (front mid-engine rear-wheel drive) and conformed to the Japanese kei truck rules. Find this 2008 […]
Snowmageddon has enveloped the world as we know it (at least in most of America) and even if you live in Phoenix you would be advised to own at least one vehicle that rides on tracks. A half-track tank is a good start, but if you don’t have the garage space for another semi-worthless vehicle […]
