The Eagle Talon from Diamond Star Motors (DSM) is a car that either clicks with you or doesn’t, and that’s okay. Some cars have niche appeal, fostering dedicated fan bases. While I might not consider myself part of the die-hard enthusiasts, my admiration for turbochargers, all-wheel-drive, and muscular hood designs makes me appreciate this particular […]
Am I nuts when I say that a 1996 Eagle Talon with only 57k miles on the odometer offered for less than $5k seems like a great deal? Have I been drinking the bring yer trailer Kool Aid? Is this a good price for a slushbox equipped base model (160 hp 4-banger) front-drive 90s car…because […]
The Diamond Star Motors (DSM) Eagle Talon is one of those cars that you either get…or your don’t get. Which is totally fine. Some cars are like that, they don’t have universal appeal, but they do have a cult of followers. I don’t count myself in the inner circle, but I’m enough of a lover of turbochargers, all-wheel-drive, and manual-gearboxes that I appreciate this next thing. Find this 1992 Eagle Talon TSI offered for $8000 in Johnston, RI via craigslist. Tip from ME.
This next car comes from tipper Safety Fast who writes: Haven’t had one of these on the site for a while. That sounds like a challenge to me, Mr Fast, if that is indeed your real name. I’ll start posting so many DSM classics that you’ll think this site should be called Daily Talonismo…but let’s start […]

Why Dodge decided to saddle the little sporty compacts with the Eagle and Plymouth labels is a mystery that will never been solved, but they are undeniably interesting and impossible to find stock. […]
No accidents. No rust. No modifications that can’t be removed with minimal effort. Five-digit mileage, exactly two previous owners (both female, interestingly). This 6-bolt, 4G63-powered, all-wheel-drive example is the Talon of your DSM dreams. At about double the going rate of its modified sisters, it’s priced similarly to the 26k-mile automatic 1992 Talon we dug […]
Rest In Peace Brian O’Conner. In case you’ve been living in a cave the last few days, the acting/automotive world lost a great one this weekend when Paul Walker died in a Porsche Carrera GT crash north of Los Angeles. We wanted to find a way to honor his legacy as an actor and gearhead […]
Diamond Star Motors (DSM) was the name of a Chrysler/Mitsubishi joint venture to manufacture automobiles for the US Market. Most famous of the DSM collection is the Mitsubishi Eclipse/Eagle Talon/Plymouth Laser 2+2 that was available with turbocharged engines and all-wheel-drive 10 years before the Subaru WRX hit the US market. This 1992 Eagle Talon TSi […]
