This next car comes as a tip from PA Cyclist who calls it a “Time-warp Dodge pickup 36k miles on a 24-year-old pickup!” Don’t be shocked at the asking price which is approximately the same as the original MSRP. This seems to be a trend with low mile trucks and cars these days but is […]
This next car comes as a tip from Matt V who writes: Today’s Edition of “I never knew they came in a Coupe”…aka Tempo Superleggera. Yes, the Tempo did indeed come in a shhhhporty two-door version and a manual gearbox. It looks like a 3/5th scale ninth generation Thunderbird. Find this 1989 Ford Tempo Coupe […]
You know what they say — the only thing more expensive than an expensive Land Rover, is a cheap Land Rover. This is a fact of life that is well known and often ignored, but when you consider the ridiculous high asking prices for late model blob-SUVs, a cheap Ranger Rover is so tempting…you shouldn’t […]
Tipper Tian647 sent in a ’94 Explorer 2-door with the comment; Haven’t seen one of this generation in a long time…which got me thinking. The first generation Ford Explorer (1991-1994) were very popular when new and used to litter grocery store parking lots across the country — what happened to them? These 1st generation models were part of the infamous Firestone/Ford fiasco of the late 1990s and it is true that Ford recommended a 26 psi tire pressure in the stock Firestone tires equipped because at 35 psi the Explorer could roll over during a moose test style maneuver. So maybe they rolled over, or people abandoned them on the side of the highway and walked home because they were afraid of the eminent rollover event — anyway, you hardly ever see them on the road anymore. Where’d they go? Find this 1994 Ford Explorer Sport 4X4 offered for $2,300 in Tracy, CA via craigslist.
To the average person muddling through life like a canoer with a golf club for a paddle, an XJ Cherokee Sport is just another old junker. But to people who have their act together, like those with a Yamaha VMAX hooked their canoe, they smile when they see an XJ Sport. The XJ (1983-2001) was all of AMC’s engineering might shoved into a lifted family wagon shape. Jeep sold 3 million of these things during their two decade production run, so you have plenty to choose from, but the one you want is going to be equipped with a 4.0 liter AMC inline-6 and isn’t rusting from the bottom. Find this 2000 Jeep Cherokee XJ Sport offered for $7,250 in Cliffside, NJ via craigslist. Tip from Cory.
The convertible pickup might have seemed like a novel idea when the Dakota Sport was released in 1989…but then you start thinking about the horse drawn wagon…which was pretty much a convertible pickup since man first domesticated horse in the Bronze age, and then you think about the first mass produced vehicle..yup, the Ford Model T Runabout was a convertible pickup. So…yeah…nothing new is really ever new, just rebranded and adjusted for inflation. Find this 1989 Dodge Dakota Sport Convertible offered for $8,500 in Dallas, TX via craigslist. Tip from Rock On!
Pickup trucks are the working dogs of the automotive world…and for decades they were strictly form-follows-function work machines. But then auto designers started to get creative to sell things like pickups that were built from cars (the El Camino and Ranchero) and even performance pickups (SVT Lightning…etc)..and Dodge even went as far as to built […]
It’s the 4th of July over here in the land of freedom — time to celebrate with a classic American pickup truck that combines our love of pickups with a love of heavy machinery and farm equipment. Find this 1970 Ford F100 Sport Custom here on eBay bidding for $3000 reserve-not-met with 1 day to go, located in […]
This next car reminds me of a time when classic European sports cars were sold for less than $5k on Autotrader print magazines found at your local 7-11 market (Autotrader stopped printing the English language version of their classifieds in 2013)…and unfortunately I’ve got to think that this car is either (A) already gone or […]
Another day, another oddball car that you’ve probably never seen before and might not have known of its existence. At least, that’s what I thought when I stumbled onto this next car. It is a Triumph Sport 6, which was a convertible version of the Triumph Vitesse 6…and appears to be a combination of Triumph […]
